SINGAPORE: Approximately 250 of older residents of the Tanjong Pagar-Tiong Bahru community were taken on a day out exactly on Saturday, 20th of June, as the people of the community gathered to show appreciation for their impact on nation-building.
The seniors had a great time as they were served traditional dishes and watched performances at the Tanjong Pagar Plaza Food Centre. A number of 30 students from the Singapore Polytechnic Welfare Services Club volunteered to help with major activities and also dialogued with them.
The organisers of the event were interested in getting the elderly ones excited and active as they spend time out with friends.
Joining the activities was Ms Indranee Rajah, a Senior Minister of State for Law and MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC, who also delivered some goody bags containing foodstuffs to the seniors.
Before this, the seniors had taken a tour around HortPark.
The occasion was planned by the Tanjong Pagar Plaza Market & Cooked Food Centre Association and Tanjong Pagar-Tiong Bahru Active Ageing Committee.
